Fantasy Ironman Challenge

12 members of Athlone Triathlon club are heading to Zurich this July to take on Ironman Zurich. Consisting of a 3.8 km swim, a gruelling 180 kilometre cycle and, finally, a 42.2 kilometre marathon, these brave amateur athletes face the ultimate sporting challenge.

But, there is a much easier challenge for you the Athlone public! - pick your team of four experienced and four novice triathletes, estimate their combined times and you could win €500!  All proceeds will go to the South Westmeath Hospice.

Entry forms are available on our website www.athlonetriathlonclub.com , in Trizone, or the Athlone Regional Sports Centre. Fill one out, add your fiver for charity and drop it in one of our collection boxes. Then just leave the hard work to Athlone's ironmen!

Fitness, Weather conditions, form on the day, the athlete’s food and drink intake, and luck all play their part in determining the time taken. This means your guess could beat a skilled calculation in estimating your team’s time.
